I bought this RM2 in 2002 and spent 12 years making it roadworthy.
There is no history on this car - it came with an import clearance certificate of 519745, but the body features suggest it is not original (it should probably be in the 80000s). The parts were numbered #11, which was not included in John de Boer's registry.
The car was probably one of eight imported in 1960 by a Chicago company called DFL. It was bought by Terry Powell in 1962 and I don't know what happened to it after that, nor do I know how it came to Japan in the 1980s and then to myself. One piece of uncertain information is that it is similar in features to 847405, which was owned by Michael Shoen, a well-known collector. However, Mr Shoen did not appear to have any information at present.
