Headlight Surround

My car has been missing the aluminum headlight surrounds / rims since I've owned it. Now that I have the car in the process of a restoration, it's time to make a set of these parts. Does anyone know the general dimensions of the cross section of the ring that they could forward to me? Photos would be great as well. My intent is to hand form the parts from sheet or angle stock.

Thanks,

Thanks to John and Scott for the photos. I have a much better understanding now as to how these were made by Zagato. My plan at this point is to use either 1100 or 3003 aluminum sheet and hand form the parts. Will keep the list posted on the results. Does anyone have an approximation of the material thickness used in these parts? At this point I'm guessing at .050" or .062".

On a separate but related subject, does anyone have any photos of the headlight buckets used in our cars? Mine were apparently removed very early on when it was converted to a race car. I've hacked together some based on Lucas headlight buckets from the '60's but would rather have a a better solution. Any help would be appreciated.

What are these????

I have recently aquired a 1958 DB. There are three lights on the dashboard...and 2 toggle switches. The left toggle appears to be the switch for the lights although my DB has been mis-wired so the headlights don't work. But what is the right (spring-loaded) toggle? And what are the 3 lights? Also...there is a small tank on the left. side of the gas tank which apperas to be motor oil...but the cap is in Italian which I can't read. I thought oil was added via the cap on the valve cover. Is this true or should it be added in the tank in the front which appears to be oil? Thanks.

The right switch (toggle) on the dashboard is spring-loaded and snaps back on release. Whatever it activates doesn't work proably due to mis-wiring.

750 GT operation manual.

Are there any sources for 750 GT's operation manuals? My '58 750 GT has 2 toggle switches and 3 indicator lighst on the dashboard. What do the do/are they for? I note on appartently later 750GTs there are 3 toggle switches. Does anyone have photos of the interior below the dashboard? I recently acquired 440582 which is in the midst of retoration and plan on continuing, time-permitting, and availablility of parts.

I have never seen an operation manual for the 750GT. Ive looked hard. The toggle switches and light indicators seem to vary and mine also has the same setup as yours.

one toggle (on the left for mine) operates the gauge back lights

one toggle (on the right for mine) operates the wipers

the two toggles i have are different types. the light toggle is a two way toggle (on and off) the wiper toggle has a center position wich indicated off, an up position which turns the wipers on, and a downdard position that resets the wipers to the downward resting place.

one indicator light turns on with the turn signals (left indicator) same indicator for both left and right turn signal function.

one indicator light turns on with parking lights (center indicator)

one indicator turns on for the headlights (bright headlights)

each indicator is a different color for me.

white, green, red in that order from left to right. i believe that my center indicator used to also have a blue when the regular beam headlight were on but i could be mistaken as it has not do that recently and I might be making that up

there is also a small orange "power" light in the center of the rows that indicated that the key is turned on and the car had electrical power.

I have never known what the other switch(es) and indicator(s) were used for. Could be an option added for something like an extra fan, fuel pump, etc

hope that this helps
