Puff, The Magic Dragon’s Tail

by John Kuhn Bleimaier

(With apologies to Peter, Paul & Mary)

Puff the magic dragon’s tail, a special place as you will see,
We frolic in the mountain mist in a land called Tennessee.
Little Abarths love twisty curves, the road called dragon tail of Puff;
We eschew superchargers, wide alloy wheels and other fancy stuff.

Together thence we travel and around the curves we sail;
Vigilant folks keep lookout for Smokey while driving along the tail.
Noble Harley bikes would lean down low whene'er the Fiats came;
Corvettes lowered their flags when Abarth roared out its mighty name.

The dragon lives forever, and at heart we are always little boys
Backfire pings and piston rings will ever characterize our toys
With the change of seasons in Appalachian fall we’ll be back for more
And that mighty dragon’s tail once again will hear our tailpipes roar

Puff the magic dragon’s tail, a special place, yes, Siree;
Abarths frolicked in the mountain mist in a land called Tennessee.
