today we managed to put on some new tie rods and finishing off the coilover suspension system installation. During the process the brake caliper was also taken off and resealed/ reconditioned a little bit. Definitely one step closer to its first proper run.
When facing upward, it operates normally. However, when it moves from vertical to downward, there's a slight catch near the zero point, which seems to be hindering its movement. I can't find the damper's dashpot either. I'd prefer not to remove the needle if possible.
Sadly, after trying to weld additional material to the J-latch failed, our subcontractor took the component which the J-latch moved and which is attached to the door shaft promising to fabricate a new one. Regrettably, contractor...and component has disappeared and I've not been able to find a replacement anywhere...even via Tony Berni. Apparently the only way to solve the problem is to dismantal the driver's door and fabricate a mirror image of the missing component. Something I am NOT looking forward to.
Does anybody have the wiring diagram for a Double Bubble. I have a new wiring harness but I looked underneath
the dash (which is pretty inaccesible) and the current wiring is a tangled mess. Is it the same as the wiring for a Fiat 600?
Has anybody replaced the wiring? How big a deal is it?
Thank you for your information. I belive the earlier models have two toggle switches and later have three. Hope you can fix your switches correctly and enjoy driving DB. I'm located in Japan.
