I recently purchased an Abarth Double Bubble from Patrick Smiekel, originally purchased by Stan Goldstein. I am performing oil changes in both the engine and transmisson. I use Valvoline VR-1 20/50 wt conventional oil in my Alfa engine and will do the same with the Abarth. As far as the tranmission could someone please tell me what type of oil to use? Thank you, Jon Hoffnagle
I have had good results with Mike Pellegrino in Los Alamitos, Ca 562 2124549
He works on all models of Fiats and has for many years. Very knowledgeable when It comes to trouble shooting problems and tune ups. Tell him John sent you from the Abarth750 GT Forum
You could try Theos Micro cars in Coasta Mesa, he has Abarth engines in the shop and works on Fiat 600s and derivartives. Very friendly guy.I have no experience of working with him though, just bought parts
The only person I was aware of in Southern California was John Edwards of Costa Mesa R&D. He passed away a year ago. Had a machine shop, specialized in Fiat / Abarth engines. I can't believe there aren't others. Up here in NorCal, the expert is Les Burd in Alameda.
Yes, that’s the correct current spec oil. Passenger side ahead of the drive shaft for the oil filler hole!
