looking for suggestions for the 850ss

We've finally got most of the exterior lighting working. There were quite a few missing wires and a lot of bad terminals to sort out, but it's great to finally see all the lights functioning again.

Now that the electrical work is mostly behind us, it's finally time to start tackling some routine maintenance. I have a few questions and would really appreciate any advice from those who have been down this road before.

1. Front brake pads

The car has an 850 front disc brake conversion, but the box of spare parts that came with the car includes a set of brake pads that don't seem to fit. Does anyone know what calipers are commonly used for these conversions, or what brake pads I should be looking for?

2. Tires

The car is currently running 13-inch wheels with 155/70R13 tires. They're more than 20 years old, so they'll definitely be replaced before the car goes back on the road. Is 155/70R13 a good size for these cars, or is there another size that people generally prefer?

3. Weber 36 DCD conversion

We're planning to replace the current carburetor with a Weber 36 DCD. Will the factory throttle linkage work with the DCD, or are there any modifications or additional parts needed to make everything fit properly?

4. Hand throttle / choke lever

The car didn't come with the original hand throttle (starter/choke) lever, and I'd really like to reinstall one since it's such a nice period-correct feature. Does anyone know a good source for the lever and the related linkage?

5. Suspension and ride height

Replacing the shocks is high on the to-do list. The car currently sits a little lower than I'd like, and I'm wondering if there's a practical way to raise the ride height. Since the front suspension uses a transverse leaf spring, I'm not sure what the available adjustment options are. Also, if anyone has any tips or tricks for replacing the shocks on these cars, I'd love to hear them before I get started.

6. Headlight bucket mounting

I'm also not sure that my headlight buckets are mounted correctly. The current setup doesn't hold the headlights securely, so they wobble quite a bit. If anyone has photos of the correct mounting arrangement, an exploded parts diagram, or knows what brackets or hardware I might be missing, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance!

It sounds just like a racing engine—it's wonderful!

The stock tires and wheels for this car are 13-4.5J wheels (Fergat steel-aluminum hybrid or Campagnolo magnesium) paired with 135-330 Michelin X tires.

However, since those are extremely hard to find, I’ve opted for Campagnolo replica 13-5J wheels paired with 145/80R13 Michelin Energy-Saver4 tires. Since this is the most affordable option and offers just the right a

mount of grip, I think it’s the perfect choice for this car.
